Spanish fashion turns twenty-five years old and its most representative catwalk, Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week, in which Spanish creators have been born, grown and consolidated, fifty editions. Today we can openly affirm that Madrid is the fashion capital of Spain. These twenty-five years are inextricably linked to our democracy: fashion is born and grows in democratic societies, forming part of their changes, the mobility that they allow and continually reinventing social classes, moods and values. Spain has always had great names in all artistic disciplines, and fashion creation was no different. What had characterized Spanish fashion creators was the consecration and development of their work abroad; Thus, while Spanish creators settled in Paris or Venice, other Europeans settled in the tolerant and avant-garde Madrid of the interwar period, such as Sonta Delaunay, the first to apply artistic creation to clothing and everything that surrounds us in life; clothing as the first home of the individual that extends into everything that surrounds him. The current situation is very different and Spanish creators design and produce in Spain and from here they present their made in Spain to the world.
